A day in the life of…our Coventry team
Date 19 August 2026
Our latest ‘day in the life’ feature focuses on our fabulous Coventry team.
This dynamic duo comprises of Business Development Manager Heather Jones and Recruitment and Compliance Officer, Holly Richards.
Together, they lead our Coventry branch of Care Connection Partners while focusing on recruitment and compliance across the business.
Let’s hear more from Heather and Holly…
“We start the day by reading through all emails, texts and application enquiries which have come in overnight, and ensure all compliance activity is up to date.
“We assign staff to mandatory training every 12 months, so we keep on top of all documentation and training to ensure everyone is completing the right training at the right time.
“If we’ve asked existing staff for additional documents, we make sure the information is filed and shared in the right place, with the right people, and information on a staff member can be accessed quickly, efficiently and with accuracy on our system.
“We also look at job adverts we’ve advertised to see if there are any applicants, contact them and send out appropriate application forms.
“We’re the first contact new staff have with Care Connection Partners. We have the initial conversation before they send us their CV, Health Care Assistant assessment form and completed application form.
“We also send them a checklist of everything we require to work for us. This includes all ID documents, DBS certificate and Right to Work code, which shows the individual’s eligibility for work, and seek references.
“If this is all successful and all compliance has been met, we then arrange for them to attend our two-day induction and practical training session, which is classed as a detailed interview process to check the skills every new staff members has.
“Once this has been successfully completed, we issue a welcome pack with their contract and identification badges for compliance, and all staff profiles are entered into our bookings system, so they can start work straight away.
“Staff can make themselves available for all shifts that come into the business once training is completed, and we ensure all of our team are on the same page regarding every new member of staff working for us.
“Attention to detail is so important in our roles – we’re sticklers for making sure everything is written down and filed in the right place. If anyone has a question, the answer is there.
“We require about 25 different certificates in various areas of care from anyone who comes to work for us. This is well above the expected standard within the sector.
“Sometimes, we’ll have a Senior Care Assistant apply for a job with us but they may be two or three certificates down, as they’re completed every 12 months, so we’re happy to support those who are the right fit, with excellent experience, to complete those and progress.
“We know how important it is to ensure we send the right staff to our partners.
“As a 24/7 business, we’re open and honest about what we can provide to our partners and we always try our best. That’s why it’s crucial to get it right from the start and recruit the right people.
“We make sure we’re always doing our best for Care Connection Partners and support each other.
“There is never a stupid question. You can’t afford to get it wrong, especially in healthcare.”
