Daniel Taylor
Tell us about your job and the services your care home provides for residents.
We provide 24-hour care to residents with dementia and mental health conditions. These conditions can range from early onset to advanced progression, which presents with heightened behaviours.
My job as manager is to oversee and ensure all our residents are provided with care and support tailored to them in a person-centred approach, in accordance with their individual care and support plan.
It’s also my role to make sure our services remain compliant with ongoing governance through audits and monitoring, and with legislations and regulations ensuring all staff have the knowledge, training and dedication to follow the correct policies and procedures.
What’s the best thing about your job and why?
The best thing about my job is working within a team of extremely skilled individuals to provide holistic care to our residents, who are part of our own internal family.
I love seeing outstanding care being delivered, seeing the difference this makes to our residents, and watching them being empowered make their own decisions.
This gives them independence and self-autonomy whilst living in residential care, which is what makes the job so worthwhile and rewarding.
How does the Care Connection Partners team support you?
Care Connection Partners support our services by providing experienced and well-trained staff who fit in well and have the same vision and morals we do.
At Woodleigh Lodge, we have several residents who require one-to-one care and support due to heightened behaviours or risk of injury to themselves, such as by falls. Care Connection Partners provide us with the support staff to deliver the extra care that’s needed to ensure our residents remain safe in their day-to-day living.
This can be through ongoing supervision and support, offering distraction techniques and supporting them to engage in the local community to enrich their quality of life.
How capable and qualified are the staff Care Connection Partners provides you with?
The care staff provided to us by Care Connection Partners have always been more than qualified, and capable of providing the role that is expected of them at our home.
They are excellent.
What would you recommend about Care Connection Partners?
They offer the full care package. Not only will they provide the care and support staff required, even the office staff are friendly, experienced, knowledgeable and engaging with the packages they offer.
They don’t treat our residents as just another number in their business plan. They will remain involved, engaged and focused to support our residents. Nothing is too much effort for them.
They also have the vision to look for continuous improvement and development, ensuring their staff are focused on positive outcomes for our residents.
