Sarah Iversen.
Tell us about your role and what it involves
I’m responsible for ensuring all staff submit their timesheets on time, so I can perform the weekly payroll in a timely manner and chase any outstanding timesheets. I collate the information and send it across to the accountant.
I’m responsible for adding new starters onto the payroll and organising invoices to care homes, ensuring everything is accurate. I also resolve any queries.
The volume is huge, so it’s quite a big job.
What’s the best thing about your job and why?
I love payroll, working with numbers and looking after the invoices to ensure the cogs of the business keep turning. I enjoy having that impact and I get a lot of satisfaction from doing my job well.
This is a new challenge for me and I’m enjoying it more and more as the weeks go on. I’m a massive believer in being surrounded by great people too. Everyone has made me so welcome and they’re lovely.
Why do you love being part of the Care Connection Partners team?
Every place I’ve worked, you just come in and crack on. Here, we have a morning meeting every day where we sit down together and make sure everyone is okay before we get on with our jobs.
Everyone is so close and it’s a real family feel, which is so important. It’s one of the first things I noticed when I started working here.
What does #feelthelove mean to you?
It means everyone is looked after and everyone matters, from the carers to when training is provided. Everyone makes an effort to get to know each other and we check up on each other all the time. It’s not just the staff in the office, it’s everyone we work with.
We’re a united team and it’s nice to be part of that. It’s a very respectful environment and everyone goes above and beyond. I have felt the love from the start and it’s so refreshing.
Tell us something about yourself which people may not know
I used to be a ballerina on stage from the age of five until I was 16.
There’s nothing elegant about me now! I’m a very clumsy person, so nobody would expect me to have done that. I’m more likely to bump into something or trip up!
