Staff training and induction programme extended to enhance process
Date 23 September 2026
We’ve made our already extensive induction and training process for our staff even more robust, increasing the in-person process from one day to two.
Our manual handling and first aid training is now delivered by an increased number of our team, including Office Manager Beth MacLeod-Birch, Business Development Manager James MacLeod-Birch and Clinical Lead Amanda Lambert.
We require our carers to meet all compliance checks and have completed at least six months of working in care in the UK, with references to support, before they start work with us.
Beth said: “We’ve increased our induction and training process to allow us to deliver a more comprehensive overview of what it means to work in care.
“We refresh staff skills, ensure they can perform tasks correctly and go over legislation, which they’re already aware of.
“The staff also spend time with Deborah Stock, our Founder and Managing Director, who highlights what we expect from our staff, what they can expect from us, and gets to know them in-person, sharing what our #feelthemlove ethos means.
“We’ve also introduced an additional element of the training process based on my experience of working in care for several years, while also revisiting the 16 Care Certificate Standards.
“This includes person-centred care, awareness of learning disabilities and autism, awareness of mental health and dementia, and much more.”

Our General Manager, Beth MacLeod-Birch, trains our staff
Our training and induction programme is delivered in our dedicated training suite at our head office in Hull.
Beth said: “It’s about having a shared learning experience and training, so staff can get to know each other and share information over a longer period of time.
“This helps us to also understand where they want to work and which services may better suit them, so we can perfectly match them with our partners.
“It’s imperative we match the right staff to the right environment, for our partners and for them.
“The last group of staff we trained set up a WhatsApp group to keep in touch, which is lovely and definitely follows our #feelthelove ethos.
“Feedback from dozens of staff who have completed the two-day programme has already been positive, with suggestions taken on board to help shape future sessions.
“We’re also grateful for the extra time our staff are prepared to put in to working with us by completing this process.”
